Being You
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psalms 139:14)
“Never see your importance through the standards of the world”
“Begin to understand yourself”
“You’re stronger than you think so stop thinking so much”
Today’s society has evolved so much there’s always a new thing. New gossip, new technology, new music, new shows, you name it. As human beings, we tend to chase and gravitate towards the new things. We are always looking on the outside. As cliche as this may sound, how often do we look inside? Meaning how often do we appreciate what we have thoroughly before being gravitated to other things. We often talk about getting our priorities straight. Well we can only do so once we lay out those priorities and that’s by figuring out and chasing the image the Lord made of ourselves. First step is to appreciate what’s within ourselves because we can find precious treasures.
In the book of Mark 8:36 , it is written “It is worth nothing for you to have the whole world if you yourself are lost.. The verse literally speaks for itself. Why navigate the world in which you live thinking you are driving down the right highway when you had missed the exit. In the book of Proverbs 15:32 it is written to conclude the point mentioned above “If you refuse to be corrected, you are only hurting yourself. Listen to criticism and you will gain understanding”
Take the time this week to reflect on yourself by asking yourself some questions. Don’t complicate things that don't need to be. If you dig deep enough you will be able to find the answers you may have been looking for. And if you feel like there’s something stopping you to dig, ask the Lord for help and direction. He sees everything and is there to make sure you are becoming the best version of yourself in His eyes and those close to you. You will feel a weight off your shoulder.
