Mental Health

“I don't feel like anything today”

“I just don't know what to do anymore”

“Feel like nothing, i tried everything and nothing….nothing works”

Mental health: an official term given to the unconscious battle we all face daily. One thing we must be aware of is whatever we see in the world today is not new. They’ve been around for centuries and the only difference between centuries ago and now is it’s more presence. Just like mental health. We must understand that this concept must be talked about and discussed. Because not talking about something does not mean it doesn't exist. Now mental health comes in different shapes and form as well as severity.

One could say that anything related to mental health is an evil spirit taking over one’s body, mind and soul. However, we must not ignore the fact that it is real. What must one do to avoid such or better yet not fall into this hole. A well known verse about rest is found in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest.” Here the implication is whenever you feel like the life you are living is getting too much to handle to simply lay them out to the Father. He will take care of it but one must not forget to ask for guidance first before just giving it away. For example, a child will do trial and error in an attempt to find out new tactics before asking their parents for help. It’s the same situation here.

But what if I've asked and given it all away but I see no change? This is where the practice of patience comes in. Not everything is done in the blink of an eye nor in an explicit act. Sometimes the changes are done throughout the smallest things to complete the bigger picture.

This week, take the time to evaluate yourself and how you handle your battles. Even war is combated with a team because one person can't save everyone. Take the time to meditate and ask for guidance and help with your battles. As well as the gift of patience. Once taken the time, live day by day and you will experience change. “Don’t worry—I am with you. Don’t be afraid—I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. I will support you with my right hand that brings victory Isaiah 41:10”

If you or anyone is battling with mental health, keep fighting because you are bigger than your battles.
