King of Glory

There are so many ways that the Bible describes Yahweh. He is something to everyone: a Father, a provider, a healer and a judge amongst other things. There are specific names for everything that the Lord does.

This week is an adoration that finds itself in the book of Psalms, 24:10, which reads:

Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

- Psalms 24:10

The Psalm is said to be written by King David, a man after the heart of Yahweh. He knew that praise and worship were necessary for all believers. He was known to dance the streets of Jerusalem in praise of the King of Kings. Why and how could he do that?

The reasoning is simple: he knew who He was praising and worshipping. As believers, we need to stop praising just because it’s a good song with a decent beat. We should be giving Him praise because we knew who Yahweh is to us and what He means to us. David knew that to Him, He was the King of Glory and the Lord of hosts, worthy of all worship and glory.

Knowing who God is to you and praising Him with your heart and soul  is the heart of worship in itself.

Associated verses: Titus 2:23, Matthew 25:31, Zechariah 2:8 - 11

Think about it: Who is Yahweh to you? How do you worship Him? How do you give Him praise? Do you see yourself giving God all of what He deserves? If not, how can you do more to praise Him everyday?

Prayer: Pray this week so that you can worship the King of Kings, Lord of hosts, with your heart and soul. Pray so that the Lord will teach you how to adore Him in spirit and in truth. Praise the Lord for being the King of Glory and the King in your life.

Song: Consider listening to “The Heart of Worship” by Michael W. Smith, a song that conveys the message beautifully.
