Cares of my Heart

There are times when we feel down and out. It’s not pleasant. The feeling of uneasiness and uncertainty - it affects many of us and you are not alone. In fact, for that, the Lord gave us a resource that we can all access for these times: His word. We can access it whenever we want and read what He has prepared for us today.

The reading of the week focuses a bit on that, being Psalm 94:19, that says

When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

- Psalm 94:19

The problems of this world are many: taxes, sickness and everything of the sort. But the Word of God was made to be a refuge for us believers. Whenever our hearts are heavy, we should always be able to turn to Him and confess our issues to Him and to confide in Him. It is when we confide in Him that we find solace.

Why?

The easy answer remains that it is because Yahweh is the God who created all things. Yet, the deeper and far more intimate answer is the one of love. The Mighty God of Israel loves those who follow His commandments and does not let their enemies defeat them. Take solace in the fact that because you love Him with your entire being, that He will love you and defend you in your moments of darkness.

Associated Bible Verses: Psalm 61:2; Psalm 77:2 - 10; Habakkuk 3:16-18

Think About It: What problems do I have in my life right now? Do I present my problems to Yahweh? Who is bigger: Yahweh or my problem?

Prayer: This week, confide in the Lord. As you confide in Him, praise Him for his goodness and His love, for you are not alone in your situation. Sing for Him and leave your problems at the door, for He remains by your side.
