House of the Lord
Some things seemingly lose their meaning over time: a picture, an old home, even a long lost friend. It’s the reality that comes with the ever changing concept of the world around us. There are certain elements that for us that are destroyed due to age and other factors. However, their symbolism and what they mean remain the same, sometimes becoming more powerful than before.
To understand what I mean, allow me to direct you to the verse of the week, which is Psalms 27:4, which reads.
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple.

For context, David is writing this, knowing that the temple is still in Jerusalem. While that is seemingly no longer the case for us believers, there is a very powerful truth in what he is saying in his psalm. The Father is omnipresent. We can follow His commands and His lifetime at all times and attempt to be in constant communion with Him, for He is Holy.
There is no other place that is worth being if it is not in the presence of the Lord. It’s why believers, those who seek Him in truth and in spirit, search for more than just a church. They seek a house of the Lord, a place of true worship and prayer, so that they can dwell and serve Him with their hearts, souls and minds.

Think About It: In the places that I worship and pray, are they places that I can say that the Father YHWH resides in? Do I make myself a true home and temple for the Holy Spirit? Do I take the time to contemplate the beauty of the Lord and to enquire in His temple?
Prayer: This week, pray so that you find yourself in His presence at all times. May your home become a home for Him and may you be able to pray in truth and in spirit, to remain in Him and with Him.
