Gifts from the Father

Something in the world is so simple to understand. That thing in question is to be thankful. We teach it to children when they’re young, so that they can understand that as they get older, it’s needed to be polite and a good person.

The verse for this week, James 1:17, is a testimony to that.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change

- James 1:17

If a child, under the age of five, is able to thank their mother or father for the cookie or game that they received, who are we not to do it with the Father?

The Father gives us some of the most beautiful things that we can fathom in this world, from the smallest flower to fresh air. Even the things that our hearts aren't even able to express are gifts from the Father. From children, to love, and even the most disheartening things. We grow in moments of darkness, but we can grow from those moments, when we know that Yeshua - another gift of the Father for He is our road to salvation - is still our light.

Associated Bible Verse: John 3:27, Proverbs 2:6, Ephesians 2:8

Think About It: What are you thankful for? What gift from the Father do you take granted? Do you think you spend enough time thanking the Father for all that He has given to you?

Prayer: This week, focus on the Father. Thank Him for the things that He gives, but most importantly, for His being. That fact that He is there in your life and thinks of you is a blessing that you should thank Him for.
