Temptation
In my life, I’ve realized that the Bible is the most striking book I will ever read. There is no compromise in it. In fact, it unknowingly became a very good mirror for me. What am I doing right? What am I doing wrong? Why do I fall and commit the same sins over and over again?
I took the time to read Matthew 26:41. To summarize the story, Yeshua is in Gethsemane to pray before he has to give his life for us. He returns to find the apostles that he brought with him asleep. He chastises them for not being able to stay away for a single hour of prayer while he went away. It’s then that he says
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Matthew 26:41
It hit me then that we want to be pure and without sin, but our bodies don’t let us. It takes prayer and time with Yahweh to be able to avoid sin, even in the little things. Simple things such as the little white lie you tell a child or the five cents extra that you got from the cashier. All sin is bad, therefore holiness and righteousness before the Lord should be our goal.

Think about it: Where are areas in your life where you face temptation? How does this temptation affect your daily life? What verses can you use to fight the temptation that you face?
Prayer for this week: Pray so that Yahweh gives you the strength to pray without ceasing and to search for him relentlessly
