Yeshua as a Servant

Here is “life” in a nutshell: me. It’s all about me. I am the star of my own television show, with the entire Earth serving as my audience. Sadly enough, for many people, that is their reality. I had to face the fact that I also lived, and sometimes fall back into, those ways. My ego was too big.

The reading this week was Philippians 2:7, where it says:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.

- Philippians 2:7

This verse talks specifically about Yeshua: how He came to serve the purpose of the Father. He wasn’t boastful even though He was pure and without sin. Many of us would fall to that feeling of conceit, but he didn’t. Peter says that we are supposed to be like Christ (1 Peter 2:21) in what we do.

This entails that we must be servants of the Father, Yahweh. He must be the one who guides us, tells us what to do, when to do it and how. It means following His commandments, like Yeshua did during his time on Earth.

In perspective, our life is given to Him. It’s not our show anymore, but His. We do our work in the background and do what we are called upon to do. No stress, just praise and worship is involved. Isn’t that a better life than what was once given to us?

Associated verses: Isaiah 53, John 1:14, 1 Samuel 12:24, Matthew 6:24

Think about it: What do you want in your life? Do you believe that you are following the commandments of the Lord? Does Yahweh guide your life, or are you the main character in the show of your life?

Prayer: This week, focus on giving Yahweh that place that is due to Him. Give Him the honor and the glory that He deserves. Make yourself humble to be His servant.
