The Word of God

I’ve read my fair share of comic books and associated media in my lifetime. Why is that relevant? It means that I have a basic understanding of what “world changing power” is. I’ve seen Thanos eliminate half the universe in Avengers: Infinity War with the infinity gauntlet. But I tell you that there is a power that is both real and even more powerful than that: the Word of God.

This week, we will have the pleasure of going over the wonderful verse of Isaiah 55:11, which says:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

- Isaiah 55:11

There is no measuring of the power of the Word of God. Spoken by Yahweh Himself, it created the world in six days. It is through the Word that a number of miracles happened, which include that of the paralytic man in Capernaum in the book of John and the Jeroboam’s hand withered and restored. But most importantly, the Word became flesh in Yeshua, who died for our sins.

As believers of Yahweh, the Word of God should be the most important thing in our lives. It is how God communicates with us. It is how He gives us life and bread to continue to live. It is through His word that we are saved from our sinful nature. We should spend time reading the Bible and truly understanding the Word of God, it’s power and its impact in our lives.

Associated Bible Verses: Matthew 24:45, John 6:63, Deuteronomy 30:15 - 20

Think About It: Have you ever thought about how powerful the Word of God is? Do you follow the commandments, precepts and concepts that it tells you to? How much time do you spend meditating the Word?

Prayer: Take the time this week to pray about the Word of God. Pray so that the word of Yahweh - its laws, precepts and concepts - be inscribed in your heart. May the Lord present you with Words that will profoundly change your life by bringing you closer to Him and His truth. Praise Him for the Word that He has given you and give Him thanks.
