Great, O Lord God
Allow me to get very personal with you. Growing up, I can remember car rides with one of my favorite relatives. It was in their car that I first listened to Michael W. Smith’s Worship album, a project that I still listen to today. They may not know it, but they unwittingly introduced me to Christ through praise and worship.
One of the many songs that I suppose that they introduced me to was the song “You Are Great” by Juanita Bynum, a song that takes directly from our verse this week: 2 Samuel 7:22:
Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

The message of both the bible verse and song are the same: Yahweh is unique. He is more than the statues and representations made by the hands of man. He is the creator of the heavens and the Earth. Yahweh is the God who sent His own son to die for our sins. Who else is worthy of our praise and worship?
What does that verse mean for us? It means we are encouraged to praise His Holy name everyday, without fail. In every season of our lives, no matter the tribulations that we face, we should be able to turn to Him and give Him praise. There is always a reason to give Him our worship as there is no other being that can measure up to Him in any way.

Think About It: How do you praise the Lord? Where do you put your praise and worship: is it in idols and fake gods of this world, or in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? What are some words that you can use to describe Yahweh for you?
Prayer: This week, focus on the greatness of Yahweh as our God and creator. Praise His holy Name with your heart and soul in true adoration. Pray this week so that you may receive what you have sown in Yeshua’s name, so that you may testify to His works.
