The Light
There are always these moments that seem to trouble us more than they ever should. They bring us down and enable themselves to trap us in their grasp. I can say that I’ve known that darkness from first hand experience. For me to tell you about it is to know that I understand that there is always light.
This week’s verse, that comes from the Gospel according to John, states:
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
- John 1:5
That light is the ever present light of the Father and of His son Yeshua. They are the light of our lives. I say that the sun seemingly copies what they do: it gives us warmth, light and life through its sheer presence. It is bigger than anything that we can imagine them to be and so much more powerful than we can ever truly understand.
That darkness in our lives? What would that be? That’s sickness, death, sin and decay. It is all of the things that set themselves as barriers between you living the life that the Father has set out for you. It is the enemy that is attempting to take a hold of you. It is an enemy that cannot prosper if you have the Light of the Father within you.
Therefore, I implore you to head the commands of the Father and to live in the way that He wants you to - resist the enemy - so that he will flee from you and you can glorify the Father.

Think About It: Where in your life do you allow the Light of the Father to shine? What instances of your life do you not allow Him to shine? How can you remedy that situation? Is there a specific case in which you can glorify the Father for shining His light upon your situation?
Prayer: I pray this week so that the Father shines His light upon your face and gives you His strength. May the enemy not find himself within you, for you are redeemed and belong to the Father.
