Walk the Walk
Some idioms in this world make me laugh. One of them being the following: “walking the walk, talk the talk.” In short, it means that if you are able to talk, you have to be able to back it up. I like it because it keeps people humble. In the spiritual sense, it works too.
It’s in that idea that I want to lead you to the verse of the week, 1 John 2:6.
Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

My best friend and I both watch basketball regularly and talk about it whenever we can. We call ourselves fans. We do more than just talk about it: we play the game and keep ourselves entertained with it. It’s one of the ways that we walk together through life.
It’s similar with Christ.
Abiding in Him means you have to be able to walk the walk. You have to live like Christ lived to be able to say that you walk with him. You talk about the Bible, but you live it out as well. You can’t say that you are associated with the Son of Man and aren’t similar to Him in any way. Christ didn’t sin, which means you shouldn’t either. This verse doesn’t ask you to follow what people tell you to follow, but to follow the Messiah in the way that He lived His life, through Him, so that you may live eternal life.

Think About It: How is your walk with the Father? Do you walk the walk and talk the talk? Do you think that people know that you are associated with Christ and His Father by the way that you live your life? Do you follow Him in spirit and in truth?
Prayer: If you feel as if you have lost your way and that you need to connect to the Father more, I pray that this happens for you. This week, pray so that you may truly walk like Him; give Him the time time and the opportunity to speak to you so that you can follow His instructions.
